The Original Margarita Recipe
Thinking about having a good time tonight? How does cocktail sound?
You don’t need to go to a bar to have a sip of the most popular cocktail of all time. You can actually be a bartender yourself, and make the original Margarita right in the comfort of your home.
As they say, this drink balances four of the five human tastes. The salt reduces the bitterness of the lime and tequila while intensifying the sourness as well as the sweetness. It’s an exciting beverage that you can enjoy regardless of the season. Drinking Margarita is an excellent way to warm you up on a cold night, and at the same time, an incredible beverage that will freshen you up during the summertime.
Where Did It Come From?
There has been a debate about the real origin of Margarita. But with the name alone, it has Mexico written all over it. You probably heard some of the stories. One of them was Carlos Herrera creating this type of cocktail at his restaurant in the Tijuana area in 1938.
Despite the commotion, Margarita became a hit ever since. Countless of cocktails have been introduced, but the popularity of this drink did not fade one bit.

- Prep Time: 3 minutes
There are various ways in which you can serve Margarita. Like what we have said above, you can have it straight up or on the rocks. Although the original recipe requires you to rim the glass with salt, you have the option to leave it bare if you are not a fan of salt. You can also substitute it with sugar if you wish to.
Furthermore, it’s not necessary that you have a real Margarita cocktail glass. You can even make use of a whiskey glass. In fact, mason jars are being used these days. Just fill it up with ice and, of course, you need the recipe for a large volume.
Closing Thoughts
Margarita is a simple cocktail. In fact, it is one of the simplest. But its simplicity is what makes it special. It’s not a low-proof cocktail either since it has half the strength of tequila. But if you prefer to serve it on the rocks, it should be diluted over time.
To achieve a better-tasting Margarita, make sure to use high-quality Tequila and not the cheap ones. Add enough of the ingredients but not too much.
