To many people, making this type of sandwich, or any sandwich for that matter, may sound as simple as putting the fillings in, and that would be it. Yes, that is true. But if you want your lunch meal or snack to be THE BEST, you might as well do your homework. 🙂
The secret of this recipe is itsherbs-enhanced mayo. Sure, there are tons of mayonnaise out there, but take note that they are not created equal. Some are too sweet, while others are too sour. Of course, you wouldn’t want to compromise the taste of your sandwich, so it would be better to carefully choose the mayo that you will be using. Plus, you can improve its taste and make it healthier by adding some herbs. No worries, this won’t take hours. You can pull off the best herb mayo and come up with the world’s greatest ham sandwich in no time. This will surely beat those sandwiches offered at the restaurants.
Another good thing about making a ham sandwich at home is that you can add more ingredients to it. If you want to double the cheese, feel free to do so. You can actually double everything if you wish to! 🙂

Description
This ham sandwich with herb mayo will definitely stand above the rest. It’s perfect for lunch, dinner, or snack. Once you have a bite of it, you’d surely crave for more!
Ingredients
Herb mayo
1 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)
2 teaspoons fresh thyme (chopped)
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
2 cloves garlic (minced)
Sandwich
8 slices crusty bread
12 slices deli ham
8 slices provolone
1/4 cup dijon mustard
1/2 cup herb mayo
1 arugula
1/2 red onion (thinly sliced)
1 tomato (thinly sliced)
Instructions
- To make the herb mayo, simply mix plain mayo with oil, garlic, parsley, and thyme.
- Spread about 2 tbsps of herb mayo on 4 slices of bread. Top with 3 slices of ham, 2 slices of provolone, tomato slices, onion, and arugula.
- Spread 1 tbsp mustard on the other 4 slices of bread. Put each piece on top of the arugula with the mustard side down.
- Serve.
Notes
You have endless options when it comes to the bread. But I highly recommend the crusty type like ciabatta or sourdough. You are also free to utilize white bread or wheat bread if that’s what you prefer. As for the arugula, you can substitute it with lettuce.
