Classic Chicken Salad Sandwich
If you are one who is always on the go, chances are, you probably often resort to takeout lunch meals. But really, as appetizing as they seem to be, the foods that you can get from fast-food restaurants are actually loaded with sodium as well as preservatives. You sure don’t want to continue to expose yourself to that.
Really, there are many options for you when it comes to lunch recipes that are easy to prepare. One of which is the classic chicken salad sandwich. If you have leftover chicken meat, that would make the task of making the recipe a lot easier. But even if you make it from scratch, it will literally only take a few minutes. You will then have a healthy sandwich for lunch.
Chicken Salad Sandwich
Chicken salad sandwich is very popular. We all know that. That is why it is considered a lunchtime staple. It’s exactly what the name suggests. Your classic chicken salad on bread.
Is it healthy? Yes, it is! For every meal that you prepare, the nutritional value would, of course, highly depend on the ingredients. So if you utilize skinless chicken meat for your salad, then it is really good for you. You can always limit the amount of mayonnaise since that is where most of the calories are coming from. And when it comes to the bread, instead of using regular loaf, go for whole-wheat bread.

How to Make a Healthier Chicken Salad Sandwich
Like what we have said above, the healthiness of your chicken salad sandwich all depends on what you put in it. One great way is to add more veggies. Aside from lettuce, you can add vegetables like tomatoes, carrots, beans, cucumber, peppers, and spinach. Now, if you are not so much into mayonnaise, you can swap it out with low-fat sour cream, yogurt, or vinaigrette.
As for the bread, which completes your sandwich, skip the ordinary ones, and opt for whole-wheat.
