Description

Looks impressive, tastes amazing…This recipe for extra crispy restaurant-style hash browns is a must-try!

Ingredients

Scale

4 medium potatoes (peeled)

1 medium onion

1 large egg (beaten)

vegetable oil

salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Coarsely grate the peeled potatoes as well as the onion.
  2. Put the grated potatoes and onion into a clean tea towel. Squeeze the towel to remove the excess liquid.
  3. Transfer the squeezed potatoes and onion into a large bowl and add the beaten egg. Mix well and add a pinch of salt and pepper.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan. Once hot, add spoonfuls of the potato mixture. Flatten them out into patties.
  5. Flip over and make sure that both sides turn brown and crispy.
  6. Serve.

Notes

You can flatten the ‘patties’ into half-inch thick. Each side should be cooked in about 3 minutes. Make sure that the oil is hot enough but not smoking.
