Description

With just a few spices or seasonings, you can have rotisserie chicken without turning your oven on. Thanks to a slow cooker! Just set it up and let it do the work!

Ingredients

Scale

whole chicken (innards removed)

2 tablespoons light brown sugar

1 teaspoon each garlic powder, onion powder, and dried thyme

1/2 tablespoon each smoked paprika and chili powder

salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Put aluminum foil on the bottom of the slow cooker. This should serve as the rack for the chicken.
  2. Combine all the ingredients and rub the chicken with the mixture.
  3. Put the chicken on top of the aluminum foil, cover the slow cooker, and set it on high for 4 hours. This should allow the slow cooker to reach an internal temperature of at least 160 degrees Fahrenheit.

Notes

Before rubbing the chicken with the spices, make sure that the innards are removed and it is dry inside and out. If you want to cook on low, it would take about 7 to 8 hours.
