Description

This homemade cherry cobbler recipe is one of the desserts that are easy to make. Filled with cherries and topped with more, it’s very satisfying. You can even serve it with a scoop of your favorite ice cream.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling:

2 lbs. of fresh cherries (pitted and cut in half)

1/2 c. of sugar (granulated)

2 tbsp. each cornstarch and lemon juice

1/8 tsp. salt

Batter:

1/2 c. each sugar and all-purpose flour

1 tbsp. baking powder

1 egg

1/4 tsp. salt

3/4 c. milk

1/2 c. butter (unsalted, melted)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Add the cherries to a saucepan along with all the other ingredients. Cook for about 5 minutes over medium heat. Stir frequently.
  3. In a bowl, combine baking powder, flour, sugar, milk, egg, and salt. Mix well until smooth. Melt the butter in a skillet, take it off the heat and add the batter.
  4. Spoon the cherry mixture over the batter and spread evenly. Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Pitting your cherries would be much easier using a cherry pitter.
