Classic Meatloaf Recipe

Weeknights are usually busy for most of us, and, for sure, we would just love to eat dinner real quick and call it a day. But, of course, we still want to make sure that we are eating something delicious and nutritious. A meal that can be prepared in just minutes as much as possible.

Have you ever tried classic meatloaf before? Sounds intimidating? The truth is, meatloaf is the perfect choice when you are in a hurry to prepare for dinner. It may seem hard to make, but really, all it takes is just about an hour.

Does It Come With Health Benefits?

Meatloaf is commonly made with ground beef or a mixture of ground beef and veal as well as pork. This is what makes people think that it is too high in fat and sodium, especially the store-bought ones. But if you are making it at home, you can definitely pick healthier ingredients. You can then improve its taste, and most importantly, its nutritional value.

This dish comes with several health benefits, too. First of all, since it contains protein, you can expect it to give your energy. You have to be careful with the calorie count, though.

If you want to make your life much easier, you can prepare the meatloaf ahead of time, perhaps over the weekend. Make the mixture, form it into a loaf, top with glaze, cover, and then put it in the freezer. You can simply thaw it for about 24 hours prior to baking.

If this is the route that you are taking, be sure to bring the meatloaf down to room temperature. You can do this while preheating the oven.

Why Using a Loaf Pan Is Much Better

While you are free to utilize a baking sheet, it is highly recommended that you use a loaf pan instead. Why? Because it can hold the glaze in place. You can also expect the meat to be juicier. However, if you really do not have any choice but to use a baking sheet, you need to line it with aluminum foil. You also have to shape the meat into a loaf, top with glaze, and then bake.
