I make my own version of a banana split for breakfast every day: a ripe banana, 1 cup part-skim ricotta cheese, 1 cup blueberries, and a handful of almonds or walnuts. The ricotta cheese gives me enough protein for a breakfast and the full cup of blueberries is a full serving of fruit. I also like this with fruits other than banana–papaya and persimmon also have enough sweetness to taste like a dessert.
